Fire Alarm Installer/Technician

Growing Fire Safety Company located in Manchester NH servicing NH, MA, and ME is looking to add a team player to our staff.

The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance and inspections on fire alarm, security, access control , and CCTV systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience installing fire alarm and/or security systems
  • Knowledge of major fire alarm equipment brands (such as Firelite, Silent Knight, EST, Notifier, Gamewell/FCI, Radionics, Ademco)
  • Familiarity with applicable codes (i.e. NFPA 72)
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Detail oriented and strong problem solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize all tools pertaining to installation of fire alarm
  • Ability to install, bend and rough-in EMT and rigid conduit is preferred
  • Strong leadership and ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Valid driver’s license with clear driving record
  • Able to pass Background Check and Drug Test
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule
  • Overtime may be required for this position with short notice
  • Participate in weekly revolving On-Call Status

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed in Massachusetts & Maine
  • Some knowledge of fire sprinkler systems

Job Description:

  • Direct report to Management
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm, suppression and security systems/associated devices in accordance with company standards
  • Successfully perform C.O. inspections with respective AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction)
  • Responsible for reading and understanding assigned project documentation and work orders including scope of work for installations, and determine if additional information is needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, software/systems, programs, schematics and operation/product manuals consistent with the level of training received
  • Prepare associated paperwork/forms for customer service activities & return completed documentation required for master customer file, future inspections, service, accounting and payroll in a timely manner as required by procedures
  • Maintain confidential information related to services performed
  • Ability to write detailed reports of inspection deficiencies and provide information for quoting deficiencies
  • Partner with sales to grow and protect the service segment of our business

Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Technician (Manchester)

The Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Technician is responsible for performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance and inspections on fire extinguishers, emergency lights, and suppression systems.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in the fire protection industry
  • Possess an understanding of NFPA codes
  • Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check; if applicable

Responsibilities:

  • Performance of daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual inspections and preventative maintenance services on various extinguisher or suppression systems
  • Repair, replace, fill and tag all fire extinguishers
  • Service and test
  • Complete electronic and/or hand written inspection reports
  • Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Assist the scheduling and completion of assigned duties
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
